See this beautiful spot? It’s one of my favorites, a five minute run or a ten minute walk from my place. I like to go there in the mornings before I start my day and try a little meditation. This morning I sat down and immediately noticed a man picking up the large amounts of bottles and trash on the beach. Why didn’t I notice this before? I go here all the time and I see the trash but I hardly pick stuff up…ok, I do, but not alot. This guy was inspiring, so I went ahead and started to pick up some trash.
Seeing this guy really got me thinking about how complacent and used to the view of trash anywhere and everywhere, so much that I don’t even notice it or think to pick it anymore. My message, stop being so complacent and really look around and make an effort. No, I didn’t clean the whole beach, but when you think about it, if everyone that visits the park would just pick up one or two pieces of trash and put it where it belongs, well, things would look much better. Just take a look around a make a little bit of effort because a little bit with one person leads up to a big effort on a much larger scale.
This is my second try at paleo bread, right here. I just started this way of eating two weeks ago and I am impressed with my energy level, plus I lost four pounds with the least amount of effort. So, my intention is to keep it up, since I like the way I feel. One part of the paleo diet is to reduce or eliminate grains. I was kind of missing sandwiches, so I looked up a few recipes and found this one, pretty easy but I doubled it and made some alterations.
This recipe is based on the recipe on Cooking Caveman.
(9x5x3 loaf pan or slightly smaller):
8 pasture raised eggs
3 cups of organic almond butter (I used sunflower nut butter)
3 tablespoons of organic lemon juice
1.5 teaspoons of baking soda
I added zucchini and carrots and blended it in a food processor, since that is what I had in my fridge
Bake at 350 for 60 minutes
Finished paleo bread!
I am doing pretty well with the double helix water too, started that before the paleo diet and noticed an energy change…then even more so with the diet!
I just wanted to begin including all my healthy recipe successes here, as I mostly post them on facebook and get lots of good feedback. Healthy cooking has alot to do with your personal energy and I love it. It’s a creative outlet plus I eating is pretty good as well. That being said I also enjoy daily running and biking and keeping my weight down.
Here is a recipe for Creamy Avocado sauce I found by accident when trying to figure out how to make spiral vegetable noodles, one thing led to another and I found the sauce recipe. It is actually on the Oh She Glows blog, which I love.
I added the nutritional yeast with good results but go ahead and slice up the avocado, the garlic, basil, olive oil and salt and process through your food processor until its smooth. Cook your spaghetti, drain, and serve over and mix into the spaghetti. You can also use it with spiral veggie noodles. It is soooo good and only takes 10 minutes. I was thinking of trying with homemade lentil meatballs.
I have been taking the water in a big jug and a few drops in the morning for about two weeks. So far I like the way it changes the taste of the water, for one thing. I also like my increased energy and endurance. I run every morning before work and don’t get as tired as I used to. If you want to learn more about it check out the Double Helix Water page on this website. You can also try it too.
